Guests at the Longleaf Stewardship Center

We recently hosted some of our supporters from our 2022 Matching Campaign last March at the Longleaf Stewardship Center in South Georgia.  Dr. Jenkins, Ben Stegenga and Kevin Hutcheson introduced some of the species we work with in this region, talked about the species surveys we are currently working on, and showed everyone how we collect data on the animals we find.  Caleb Goldsmith and Blake Adams led a brief introduction to some of the equipment and land management techniques we use, and our guests experienced a prescribed fire demonstration.  They also spent two days in the field with our biologists looking for indigo snakes and other sandhill and wetland species in the area.
