Lighting a Match: Year Round Burning

It is important to remember that fire doesn’t have to occur during the “traditional” months of the year to accomplish objectives. Year around burning should always be considered as long as it accomplishes the objectives and lines up with the overall mission. This particular burn we were helping GADNR reduce fuel loading on a sight where there end goal is ecological restoration. In order to reintroduce fire during the natural fire season, sometimes it is required to burn outside of the desired timeframe to achieve ecological objectives in the future.
